Beguinage site

A quiet place just outside the city center

The Saint Agnes Beguinage of Sint-Truiden is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was founded in 1258 on the ground, donated by Abt Willem van Rijkel.

Already in the middle of the 13th century the Friars came to our regions. The site, 50 meters from the Grote Markt, contains a church, cloister, cloister garden and museum and is unique in Flanders.

All roads lead to the abbey

The town hall, the belfry, the countless churches and monasteries, castles, the city walls, ... the Abbey of Sint-Trudo has something to do with everything
